Tropical Pier On The Caribbean – Playa del Carmen Art

I get a real zen vibe whenever I look at this tropical pier that I stumbled upon on the beach at Playa del Carmen. The color and textures of the Caribbean water surrounding that little jetty is just magical! I was drawn back to this spot day after day during the week I spent on the playa.

I never saw any people on this tropical pier. It seemed the pier was the sole domain of a variety of tropical sea birds. The entrance at the front of the jetty was roped off for unknown reasons. There was a part of me that was sad not to get to walk out there, but from an artistic perspective, I loved that it was always empty. I enjoy a good scene filled with people, but in this case, the utter absence of people was responsible for at least part of the magic.

Perhaps the lack of people in this particular case helps create that feeling of a lost tropical paradise? Doesn’t it feel like a tropical pier that’s all yours rather than perhaps being on some busy stretch of beach? I feel alone and at peace when I look at this print, hence my describing this scenic view as a real zen moment. When I look at it, I don’t hear people enjoying the beach. All I hear are the sea birds and the gentle waves breaking against the pilings of that jetty.
