Lowder Red Barn – Auburn Alabama Canvas Print by Mark Tisdale
This Auburn Alabama canvas print features the Edward L Lowder Red Barn. This artwork featuring a building on the campus at Auburn University was another Auburn artwork I did by request. The barn and old silos are part of an Ag Heritage park administered by the College of Agriculture. The red barn also houses a display of antique tools and other heritage farming implements. Additionally, there’s an adjacent pavilion that is used for reunions, wedding receptions and other functions. So there’s a good chance the Lowder Red Barn and the old silos are recognizable to more than just alumni from the College of Agriculture at Auburn University.
Despite my time spent at Auburn, I had no direct contact with that classic old red barn. I wish I had though because I love old barns. So, this subject was a real joy to work on. There’s something that speaks to me in old barns and sheds in general and red barns are genuinely classic Americana by anyone’s definition. So I suspect this is a farm scene that may interest those with roots in Auburn’s College of Agriculture as well as the general public who just love colorful farming scenes. And for many of us, regardless of the rose colored glasses, look at this way of life with a sense of nostalgia. There’s something peaceful about an old barn in a field. And timeless, too, of course.
I hope you’ll pause to share your thoughts about this Lowder Red Barn canvas print. What caught your attention? I hope you’ll share your thoughts and questions with me.
Canvas Prints – Product Information
Stretched canvas prints are a great choice for decorating your home or office. Canvas art is a classic choice that is at home in traditional and modern decor alike.
After the purchase of your canvas print, it is made to your order. The artwork is printed on an acid-free poly/cotton blend canvas. The use of archival inks and substrate means that your canvas art print should last a lifetime without fading or loss of color.
When ordering your print, you have a choice between glossy and matte finishes. While I ordinarily love matte finishes on prints, I do like the sheen that comes on glossy canvas prints. Ultimately I would suggest letting the amount of light in your space guide your choice. In a brightly lit environment, I would lean towards a matte finish to reduce the chance of glare.
There are three wrap styles to choose from for canvas prints. The mirrored wrap choice mirrors and extends the image to the sides of the canvas wrap (without losing any of the original artwork on the front). The majority of the time I would suggest this is the best choice. The other two options are a solid black wrap or white wrap. You can see a preview of each option when selecting wrap color.
After printing, the canvas is stretched over and secured to a wooden frame of 1.5″ by 1.5″ stretcher bars. The entire production process takes from 5 to 7 business days. Your artwork will arrive in sturdy packaging. The hanging wire will be attached and all hardware necessary to hang your canvas print will be included. Canvas prints are a great ready-to-hang option.
