This Georgia canvas print features the St Simons Island Lighthouse at night in the rain. I love lighthouses in the sun, at night, etc., but there’s something about a driving rain that really speaks to me on a deeper level. And I think a lot of people feel like that. Lighthouses are a beacon in the storm, both real and in a proverbial sense.
The old lighthouse on St. Simons Island is not only historic, it’s a beautiful sight to see rising over the tree canopy. The current St. Simons Island Light was completed in 1872. It was built to replace a previous lighthouse that was destroyed during the American civil war. Now, after more than a century, the old light is rumored to have ghosts that go bump in the night. But those stories certainly it don’t stop the island and the grounds of the old light itself from being a popular wedding destination.
The St Simons Island Lighthouse is on the Georgia coast and hails from the Victorian era when it was rebuilt following the Civil War. This print of that landmark lighthouse is a study in cool blues and the warm golden glow of the lighthouse lights.

Ultimately I would suggest letting the amount of light in your space guide your choice. In a brightly lit environment, I would lean towards a matte finish to reduce the chance of glare.
There are three wrap styles to choose from for canvas prints. The mirrored wrap choice mirrors and extends the image to the sides of the canvas wrap (without losing any of the original artwork on the front). The majority of the time I would suggest this is the best choice. The other two options are a solid black wrap or white wrap. You can see a preview of each option when selecting wrap color.
After printing, the canvas is stretched over and secured to a wooden frame of 1.5″ by 1.5″ stretcher bars. The entire production process takes from 5 to 7 business days.
