Description
Starr’s Mill – Georgia Metal Print by Mark Tisdale.
This historic Georgia metal print features the landmark Starr’s Mill in Fayette County. This location was suggested to me and I after I checked into the mill I saw why. What a beautiful location! And it ticks another box I love – history! There has been a mill at this location going back to around the early 1800’s. The current mill was built in 1907 and operated as a mill until 1959. Starr’s Mill got its name from its second owner, Hilliard Starr. There’s also an unincorporated community – Starrs Mill – that grew up around the old mill, hence its name.
This old mill was just such a cheery scene to tackle. There’s something about the bright pop of red of the old Starr’s Mill structure standing in the blues and greens of a landscape. I think it’s hard to keep from smiling when looking at this, isn’t it?
I would love to hear what attracts you to this Starr’s Mill metal print? Are you from the Senoia area? Or do you simply love old mills or cheerful scenic settings?
