This colorful  romantic art print features an unmistakable scene depicting gay love in the rain. This is actually the second scene I’ve done depicting a male couple in the rain together.  Where the other one the men’s faces were more distinct, I had a request for one where there was a little more mystery to the figures. I could understand the request as I had almost gone that way on my previous work. It’s easier to see ourselves in a scene sometime when the people are slightly more anonymous. And since I love doing rainy scenes anyway, I was happy to revisit the concept.

In this case, I decided the abstract and colorful backdrop to this scene of gay love would be brighter, which helps justify the silhouettes. But it also reminds me very much of the sun showers of my childhood. It was a time before I wore glasses and a light rain while the sun was still out was something fun to experience not just see from the window. Maybe a little more of a  young love thought or perhaps love makes us young regardless?
