About This Image

On my first trip to Boston, I spent a good deal of time wandering the waterfront. I particularly liked the charm of Long Wharf. Looking back at the Boston skyline from out on historic Long Wharf provided a great view of the city and the myriad types of architecture that make up the modern waterfront.

From what I’ve read, Long Wharf was once a hub of activity when the shipping trade was Boston’s bread and butter. That’s the reason the Custom House Clock Tower is right at the end of the wharf. This was a center of trade once upon a time. Today it has been revitalized and this historic place is filled with people enjoying views of the Boston harbor.

If you look along the cobbles on the right hand side, you’ll see some almost ghostly people. They aren’t apparitions from Boston’s long past but people who walked along the wharf while I was taking this long exposure of the dusk skies over the city skyline. This long exposure also explains the dynamic feeling of motion to the clouds above. The movements of those clouds were also recorded through sky over the wharf. One of my favorite things about pictures taken as night falls is the contrast between the warm city lights and the dusk blue skies.

Every time I see this dusk print, I want to go back to Boston again. It really takes me back to that beautiful evening on the seaside. Have you enjoyed watching the skies turn to night over the skyline from Long Wharf? Or perhaps you have enjoyed a leisurely walk along the cobblestones seen in this print? I’d love to hear what attracts you to this Boston print!

How Can I Help?

At the end of the day, it’s important to me that you can put a face with the art you’re considering purchasing through my site. Aside from the print vendor who ultimately prints and ships your order, this is a one man show. The person who made the art is the same one who is typing this message and the one who will answer your questions if you drop me a note.

You are not a number and I care that you are happy with whatever art you might buy here. I’m here if you’d like to ask questions before or after purchasing. And I’m also happy to work with you where possible to customize the work you’re buying. Maybe you’d like a tweak to the shape of a print to fit in with your existing wall art. Or you’d like to add a little nod to someone special in it? Just ask! I also keep a running list of subjects I don’t currently have but people are seeking. So if you enjoy the style of my work but didn’t find quite what you were looking for, please do let me know.

I’ve been an artist for 15 years now and most of that time it’s been my full-time passion. And it matters to both the endorphins in my brain and the food I put on the table for me (and my cats) that you find the experience of purchasing the products offered here to be a pleasure.
