About This Image

I have to admit my image of New York has always been the city. I guess in some metaphysical sense, I knew there were beaches and landscapes and far more to New York State than just the massive city that is almost synonymous with the phrase New York. It was my first trip to New York City but I had the benefit of visiting with friends who had been before and they wanted to take a day-trip out to the Hamptons. And that explains how we ended up in the beautiful coastal landscape you see in this East Hampton Beach print.

When they were making the plans, there was a side of me that wanted to spend more time in the city. Without question during my short visit to New York City, I could have spent ever day there wandering the city streets and only scratched the surface. And in a strange way, that’s why it absolutely made sense to just have a beach day. Instead of staring at bridges and skyscrapers, this was a day about friendship and nature. It was the end of summer and spending it walking on East Hampton Beach seemed perfect once I was there.

The Hamptons were charming and East Hampton Beach seemed practically untouched by man. The wild skies in this photo may give some hint to the strong winds that met us on the beach that afternoon. It even looks like it may have been raining in the distance. But the strong sea breeze was worth every drop of sand. As we walked along the beach together, there was a sorrow that this time was coming to an end and we’d soon be going in our separate directions. As I fell back to capture the scene of them walking on the beach, it was as much for my own memory. Ultimately, though, I think this East Hampton Beach print says as much about friendship as it does about the beautiful coastal landscape.

Have you walked the beaches at East Hampton? Does this remind you of a late summer afternoon with friends? I would love to hear what speaks to you in this beach print! I hope you’ll take a second to share your thoughts!

How Can I Help?

At the end of the day, it’s important to me that you can put a face with the art you’re considering purchasing through my site. Aside from the print vendor who ultimately prints and ships your order, this is a one man show. The person who made the art is the same one who is typing this message and the one who will answer your questions if you drop me a note.

You are not a number and I care that you are happy with whatever art you might buy here. I’m here if you’d like to ask questions before or after purchasing. And I’m also happy to work with you where possible to customize the work you’re buying. Maybe you’d like a tweak to the shape of a print to fit in with your existing wall art. Or you’d like to add a little nod to someone special in it? Just ask! I also keep a running list of subjects I don’t currently have but people are seeking. So if you enjoy the style of my work but didn’t find quite what you were looking for, please do let me know.

I’ve been an artist for 15 years now and most of that time it’s been my full-time passion. And it matters to both the endorphins in my brain and the food I put on the table for me (and my cats) that you find the experience of purchasing the products offered here to be a pleasure.
