Although falling snow in Alabama may be rare, I felt like this image captures the Auburn Christmas spirit. In fact, I completed this work right around Christmas. I envisioned it primarily being of interest to those seeking Auburn Christmas cards, but anyone who enjoys a wintry scene might like this print on their walls at least part of the year! I know I for one had a print of an old Currier And Ives winter scene on my own walls for years. For some of us, falling snow is magical no matter the time of the year. Do you feel the same?
This Auburn Christmas art shows Samford Hall and Hargis Hall with a field of snow and light blue skies like one often sees when day is giving way to night and a soft snow is falling. These types of days are rare for those of us who grew up in the deep south, of course! I suspect, however, there are many Auburn alum who have vivid memories of the ‘one time’ snow fell while they were students there. Personally I was not so fortunate. I have seen photos of snow days at Auburn in print and on the news. But in my two years of grad school there, not a flake of snow was to be seen. I think that made it all the more fun to create my own classic Auburn Christmas art.
Whether you’re looking for that special Auburn Christmas card or you like to decorate for the season, I hope this Auburn art strikes your fancy! Or if you just enjoy remembering your own snow day at Auburn, I hope you’ll pause to share your memories in the comments below!
