About This Image

Atlanta Varsity – Midtown Metal Print by Mark Tisdale.

This Atlanta Midtown metal print features a true landmark, the Varsity, a diner that has a strong connection to Atlanta past and present residents, particularly those with ties to Georgia Tech.

The Atlanta Varsity has been a part of local life since the 1920s. Originally known as the Yellow Jacket when it opened on Luckie Street, this beloved landmark quickly outgrew its first location. In 1929, it was re-established as The Varsity at the corner of North Avenue and Spring Street, becoming the flagship of a chain that spans more  locations. The Varsity’s current appearance, dating to a 1940 renovation, reflects the classic Streamline Moderne style—a late Art Deco movement that continues to inspire today’s retro diners.

Despite the city’s constant growth and change, the Atlanta Varsity remains a lasting part of the city’s culture. It’s even a destination for tourists. My first visits to the Varsity was before I lived nearby. It’s something of a survivor in a city where much has changed, making it a treasured piece of local history. Whether you’re drawn to its vintage architecture or have a personal connection to this corner of Midtown, this Atlanta Varsity metal print celebrates the enduring legacy of The Varsity in Atlanta.

Metal Print – Product Information

Metal prints are a sleek, contemporary choice for showcasing your artwork. With their high-gloss finish and vibrant color reproduction, these prints offer a modern look that will instantly elevate any room.

Each metal print is custom-made to order, printed directly onto a 1/16″ thick sheet of aluminum. The artwork is then mounted on a 3/4″ thick wooden frame that is recessed from the edges of the print, creating the appearance of your artwork floating slightly away from the wall. This unique design gives your print a polished, modern feel with a minimalistic touch, ideal for contemporary spaces.

All metal prints are made with archival-quality materials, ensuring lasting durability and vibrant color that will stand the test of time. The production process takes 5 to 7 business days, and your print will be shipped securely in sturdy packaging.

When ordering, the only decision left to make is choosing the perfect size for your space.
