About This Image
During my years living in North Georgia, when the weekend came, I loved to find places to commune with nature. It was also my chance to explore with my camera. And luckily, in a place as big as Atlanta, there seemed to be no end of state and local parks. Each one was a little preserve of peace and natural splendor. One of the last ones I discovered before moving away was Sweetwater Creek State park, as seen in this golden landscape print.
On my lone hike among the shade trees on the banks of Sweetwater Creek in Douglas County, it was genuinely hard to imagine I was a stones throw from suburbia. Each step seemed to take me further from civilization and the pressures of everyday life. Standing beneath the sheltering trees with that great golden light filtering through, all my cares simply melted away. Can’t you feel the sense of peace in this landscape print?
I spent hours in that beautiful setting wandering the edge of the river and seeing the sights, but it felt like such a short time had passed. From those hours of walking, this is my single favorite image from that day. I love the contrast between the shadowy river bank and the golden sun on the open waters of Sweetwater Creek. Truly a beautiful moment to capture and I still feel a sense of inner peace just gazing at this scene.
Have you also strolled along the banks of Sweetwater Creek? Did you feel that same sense of peaceful isolation? Or does this landscape print simply call to you because of your love of nature? I would love for you to share what attracts you to this North Georgia landscape print!
