The subject of the image on this Montezuma, Georgia greeting card is the old Central of Georgia Depot. This beautiful local landmark was built in 1890 in the Queen Anne style of architecture. Across Georgia you’ll still find similar railroad depots. Of course in the past you’d have found even more of them. The local depot is a survivor having been used for a period of time as the offices for the city police department but more recently as a museum for Macon County.
The artwork on this card shows the Central of Georgia Depot as it may have looked around the middle of the last century complete with a vintage train at the platform.
