About This Image

Fox Theatre At Night – Rainy Atlanta Metal Print by Mark Tisdale

This rainy Atlanta metal print features the landmark Fox Theatre at night. This is a familiar sight to many who have lived in Atlanta as well as those that live throughout Georgia and beyond. I know my own experience is that I saw a show at the Fox years before I would call the area home.

Despite having done a number of images featuring this Peachtree Street landmark, this Fox Theatre metal print may be my favorite of this Atlanta venue. There’s just something about it that gives me a warm happy feeling.

And I love my other Fox Theatre metal prints like a mother with many children loves them all. They each have their own special qualities, but this one showing a rainy night on Peachtree street just takes it to another level for me. I find something refreshing in the rain. It’s not just the colorful reflections from the wet streets and city sidewalks. Although that doesn’t hurt! It’s the rain itself.

I remember years ago in high school literature learning that water in general and rain specifically was often a plot device in stories. There would often be a turning point in a given story where the lead character was wet, perhaps in a rain shower. And that scene represented a cleansing moment, a washing away of old sins, a new start if you will. I think that imagery has stuck with me all these years. It is a plot device you’ll find both in literature and on the screen if you pay attention.

Of course, unless you live in a desert, life is filled with rainy days. I guess they aren’t always cathartic, but it’s still a powerful image with me and if you look at my recent work, it’s been seeping into it periodically. I really enjoy doing rainy artwork like this Atlanta Fox Theatre metal print. They are simply fun to do. The details in the reflections take thought to figure out what one would see reflecting from a given angle. There’s a beautiful symmetry in a wet city street as you can tell from this Fox Theatre print. There’s simply something unique I feel in this rainy Atlanta artwork that stands above the rest.

I’d love to hear your thoughts on this rainy Atlanta metal print featuring Peachtree Street. I suspect if you’ve found your way here, you also have memories of performances at the historic Fox Theatre in Atlanta? Does this remind you of a night with someone special? Please do pause to share your story!

How Can I Help?

At the end of the day, it’s important to me that you can put a face with the art you’re considering purchasing through my site. Aside from the print vendor who ultimately prints and ships your order, this is a one man show. The person who made the art is the same one who is typing this message and the one who will answer your questions if you drop me a note.

You are not a number and I care that you are happy with whatever art you might buy here. I’m here if you’d like to ask questions before or after purchasing. And I’m also happy to work with you where possible to customize the work you’re buying. Maybe you’d like a tweak to the shape of a print to fit in with your existing wall art. Or you’d like to add a little nod to someone special in it? Just ask! I also keep a running list of subjects I don’t currently have but people are seeking. So if you enjoy the style of my work but didn’t find quite what you were looking for, please do let me know.

I’ve been an artist for 15 years now and most of that time it’s been my full-time passion. And it matters to both the endorphins in my brain and the food I put on the table for me (and my cats) that you find the experience of purchasing the products offered here to be a pleasure.
