About This Image
Haystack Rock on Cannon Beach – Oregon Coast 5×7 Greeting Card by Mark Tisdale.
This Oregon coast greeting card features a colorful sunset over Haystack Rock on Cannon Beach. Haystack Rock is a popular landmark in Oregon. In fact, if you’re a fan of the 80’s movie, The Goonies, Cannon Beach appears in the movie. This gorgeous landscape was a subject suggested to me and I immediately pictured a dramatic sunset sky on Oregon’s Pacific coast.
Haystack Rock towers 235 feet over Cannon Beach which is both the name of the beach itself as well as the community that has built up adjacent to it. Cannon Beach is in Clatsop County about 80 miles west of Portland.
In the image on this Haystack Rock greeting card, the subject is depicted with sunset skies reflecting in tidal water over the sandy beach. In my mind, there’s simply a joyful feeling to this scene. What do you think? What attracts you to this Oregon coast landscape?
