Liberating Moments – Gay Metal Print by Mark Tisdale

This particular gay metal print represents the joy of liberating moments. In truth it’s art that could depict any man’s carefree moments but it was in part inspired by my own experience of starting the process of coming out to friends. It was also in part inspired by a friend’s photo of her husband on the beach. There was something about the seagulls circling over his head and the lightness of the moment that spoke to me about my own experience. For me it’s about finding the freedom of telling people something that I had held close to myself for so long but I think many of us have had those same freeing moments for many different reasons in our individual lives.

For me there’s just something about the setting, the seaside, the blue skies, the liveliness of the birds. All these individual elements give me a sense of happiness in that it’s distinctly one of my happy places.
