This Oglethorpe Georgia greeting card features the beautiful architecture of Mt. Zion – St. Luke Lutheran Church. The church itself was built between 1911 and 1912, but the history of the church congregation, as the name suggests goes back to two older Lutheran church communities in Macon County, Georgia. The history of those congregations stretch back into the early 1800’s.
The artwork on this card was requested but I have always thought this church quite pretty so it was a happy request to answer. There’s something cheerful and uplifting about Oglethorpe’s Lutheran church don’t you think?
