About This Image
Ormond Quay – Dublin Ireland Waterfront Canvas Print by Mark Tisdale.
This Dublin Ireland waterfront canvas print features a striking view of Ormond Quay on the north side of the river Liffey. I experienced this dramatic lighting on one of my last days in Dublin. In fact, I remember I almost didn’t go out that day. It had started out wet and I had work that needed doing anyway. And as I sat in my room, I got a glimpse of the sun coming out and I decided that I wasn’t missing out on the sunshine. By the time I got down to the waterfront, the clouds were still dramatic and stormy but there was brilliant warm light hitting the buildings running along Ormond Quay. Didn’t it make for a dramatic photo?
Ormond Quay was developed in the late 17th century and is named for James Butler, the first duke of Ormonde. The buildings you can see along the river quay are a varied lot. The oldest dates back to the 18th century while the newer buildings are from relatively recent years. Dublin is, after all, not just a tourist destination but a living breathing capital city. And if you take a closer look you’ll see how this scene on Ormond Quay captures that. It’s filled with cars and buses going about their daily routine.
In the distance one can even see the Four Courts building, the large domed structure, which rests on, appropriately, Courts Quay.
What catches your eye in this Ormond Quay canvas print? Is it the dramatic sky? The warm light hitting the building? Maybe the brilliant reflections in the river? I hope you’ll share what attracts you to this particular Dublin artwork?
Canvas Prints – Product Information
Stretched canvas prints are a great choice for decorating your home or office. Canvas art is a classic choice that is at home in traditional and modern decor alike.
After the purchase of your canvas print, it is made to your order. The artwork is printed on an acid-free poly/cotton blend canvas. The use of archival inks and substrate means that your canvas art print should last a lifetime without fading or loss of color.
When ordering your print, you have a choice between glossy and matte finishes. While I ordinarily love matte finishes on prints, I do like the sheen that comes on glossy canvas prints. Ultimately I would suggest letting the amount of light in your space guide your choice. In a brightly lit environment, I would lean towards a matte finish to reduce the chance of glare.
There are three wrap styles to choose from for canvas prints. The mirrored wrap choice mirrors and extends the image to the sides of the canvas wrap (without losing any of the original artwork on the front). The majority of the time I would suggest this is the best choice. The other two options are a solid black wrap or white wrap. You can see a preview of each option when selecting wrap color.
After printing, the canvas is stretched over and secured to a wooden frame of 1.5″ by 1.5″ stretcher bars. The entire production process takes from 5 to 7 business days. Your artwork will arrive in sturdy packaging. The hanging wire will be attached and all hardware necessary to hang your canvas print will be included. Canvas prints are a great ready-to-hang option.
