This vintage Florida map greeting card features the historic Pensacola lighthouse. Built in the 1850’s this towering lighthouse is still a local landmark in Pensacola today. This original artwork combines a vintage map of the Florida coast that was published close in time to when the current light was built. The resulting collage has a real sense of history and place. And it will probably have a familiar feeling to many who call the Florida panhandle near Pensacola home.
The artwork on this Florida card also includes the Keeper’s cottage at the Pensacola Lighthouse. Built as a duplex it originally housed the lighthouse keeper, assistant keeper, and their families. Today it is a museum.

Although I have had family in Pensacola all my life, I’m probably more in the latter camp. I love history and adore lighthouses! So needless to say this artwork was genuinely enjoyable for me to work on.
