The subject of this classic truck metal print is a red GMC pickup circa late 1940’s or early 1950’s. These classic trucks were from an era when cars and trucks still featured designs typical of Art Deco and the Streamline Moderne aesthetic. There’s just something very characterful and fun to me about these classic cars and trucks.
The inspiration for the artwork on this classic truck metal print was down to a desire to do a fun Autumn scene that was no architectural. I love Fall foliage and the season itself so I can never get enough of this particular subject. But it’s a departure for it not to be a pure landscape or architectural. It was fun to make the subject this classic red GMC truck instead. That distinctive styling and the color harmony speaks to me. How about you?
