About This Image
Starr’s Mill – 5×7 Georgia Greeting Card by Mark Tisdale.
This historic Georgia greeting card features the landmark Starr’s Mill in Fayette County. This location was suggested to me and I after I checked into the mill I saw why. What a beautiful location! And it ticks another box I love – history! There has been a mill at this location going back to around the early 1800’s. The current mill was built in 1907 and operated as a mill until 1959. Starr’s Mill got its name from its second owner, Hilliard Starr. There’s also an unincorporated community – Starrs Mill – that grew up around the old mill, hence its name.
This was just such a cheery scene to tackle. There’s something about the bright pop of red of the old Starr’s Mill structure standing in the blues and greens of a landscape. I think it’s hard to keep from smiling when looking at this, isn’t it?
I would love to hear what attracts you to the artwork on this Starr’s Mill greeting card? Are you from the Senoia area? Or do you simply love old mills or cheerful scenic views?
