Surfers Reflecting on Towan Beach – Newquay Art Print

For me, this print of surfers reflecting in the waters on Towan Beach in Newquay, Cornwall, really stirs the feelings. It reminds me a lot of the first time I saw surfers on the coast in Northern California. I am not, in general, a fan of sports, but surfing is one that I can really get behind. There is just something in my mind magical about riding waves on a surf board. And well, I’m a fan of beaches anyway, so it’s a perfect combination.

On my last trip to England, when I discovered that one of my stops was in Newquay, a town known and loved by surfers, I was ecstatic. I was really looking forward to spending some hours watching those surfers ride the waves even if I didn’t have a long lens to capture the action.

As it turned out, the weather was beautiful but the waves were few. I’m glad to report that it didn’t stop those dedicated surfers from heading out anyway, and that was fine with me. I loved the chance to stand on the beach on my last afternoon in Cornwall and watch the surfers contemplating the waters. This is definitely among my favorite prints of Newquay. A beautiful almost zen-like quality to the two surfer dudes staring at the sea combined with a beautiful late afternoon British landscape. Perfection!
