About This Image

University of North Georgia – Dahlonega Metal Print by Mark Tisdale.

This Dahlonega metal print captures the beautiful architecture of Price Memorial Hall. The 1879 building was built over the foundations of the US Mint that burned in 1878. The mint was part of Dahlonega’s gold rush history and had been deeded in 1873 to what was then North Georgia Agricultural College. When I last visited Dahlonega, this was still North Georgia College before the merger with other colleges in the region. In fact, over the years I’ve had a lot of friends and co-workers who were alumni of this college, but my only experience was my treks into the mountains, mostly in autumn to see the leaves change. And there’s a hint of fall color in the leaves in this artwork which are turning a suitable golden color that complements the gold covered steeple of Price Memorial Hall.

This Dahlonega artwork captures a little of the history of the area. Both because this is the oldest surviving building on the campus and because of the golden steeple. Gold leaf was added to the steeple at what was then North Georgia College in 1973 in commemoration of the 100th anniversary of the college. It’s certainly a beautiful site against blue skies isn’t it? In the rolling terrain of Dahlonega, the steeple can be viewed from many vantage points around the city so there’s little doubt this is a familiar site if you’ve visited.

Metal Prints – Product Information

Metal prints are a contemporary and stylish choice that will arrive at your door ready to hang.

The artwork is printed on a 1/16″ thick sheet of aluminum that is then mounted on a 3/4″ thick wooden frame. The wooden frame is recessed from the edge of the print giving the appearance of a thin high-gloss metal print that appears to be offset from your wall.

Each metal print is made to your order and printed using archival quality materials that should last a lifetime. Metal prints take 5 to 7 business days to produce and are shipped directly to you in sturdy packaging.

The only decision you will have to make when ordering your metal print is how large you would like it to be.

If you encounter difficulty accessing the on-site purchase button at the top of the page, please use this button to shop directly from Pixels/Fine Art America, the vendor who handles fulfillment for these products. And please notify me!

How Can I Help?

At the end of the day, it’s important to me that you can put a face with the art you’re considering purchasing through my site. Aside from the print vendor who ultimately prints and ships your order, this is a one man show. The person who made the art is the same one who is typing this message and the one who will answer your questions if you drop me a note.

You are not a number and I care that you are happy with whatever art you might buy here. I’m here if you’d like to ask questions before or after purchasing. And I’m also happy to work with you where possible to customize the work you’re buying. Maybe you’d like a tweak to the shape of a print to fit in with your existing wall art. Or you’d like to add a little nod to someone special in it? Just ask! I also keep a running list of subjects I don’t currently have but people are seeking. So if you enjoy the style of my work but didn’t find quite what you were looking for, please do let me know.

I’ve been an artist for 15 years now and most of that time it’s been my full-time passion. And it matters to both the endorphins in my brain and the food I put on the table for me (and my cats) that you find the experience of purchasing the products offered here to be a pleasure.
