About This Image
Whistle Stop Cafe – Juliette Georgia Canvas Print by Mark Tisdale.
This Juliette Georgia canvas print features the landmark Whistle Stop Cafe. The small town of Juliette in Monroe County, Georgia, got a new lease of life in the 1990’s thanks to the popularity of the movie, Fried Green Tomatoes. Although the book and movie is actually set in the fictional town of Whistle Stop, Alabama, Juliette was the filming location for the film. The building seen here has a central roll as the Whistle Stop Cafe.
Before Fried Green Tomatoes, Juliette, Georgia, was a largely forgotten town an hour south of Atlanta. Like many small towns, when the railroad was still king, Juliette had bustled with life. But that day had come and passed. Film producers felt it was a great fit for the film adaptation of the Fannie Flag book and restored the small town to life in more ways than one. Not only was it redesigned and renovated to fit its part in the film, it became a tourist destination for many because of its connection with the beloved movie which featured such remarkable actresses as Jessica Tandy and Kathy Bates.
Decades later you can still stop in to Juliette and see the Whistle Stop Cafe much as it appeared in the film. This print captures the feel of the quaint small town and the landmark Whistle Stop Cafe. Have you visited Juliette and had Fried Green Tomatoes at the Whistle Stop Cafe? Or are you just a film of the movie? I’d love to know what attracted you to this Juliette Georgia canvas print?
Canvas Prints – Product Information
Stretched canvas prints are a great choice for decorating your home or office. Canvas art is a classic choice that is at home in traditional and modern decor alike.
After the purchase of your canvas print, it is made to your order. The artwork is printed on an acid-free poly/cotton blend canvas. The use of archival inks and substrate means that your canvas art print should last a lifetime without fading or loss of color.
When ordering your print, you have a choice between glossy and matte finishes. While I ordinarily love matte finishes on prints, I do like the sheen that comes on glossy canvas prints. Ultimately I would suggest letting the amount of light in your space guide your choice. In a brightly lit environment, I would lean towards a matte finish to reduce the chance of glare.
There are three wrap styles to choose from for canvas prints. The mirrored wrap choice mirrors and extends the image to the sides of the canvas wrap (without losing any of the original artwork on the front). The majority of the time I would suggest this is the best choice. The other two options are a solid black wrap or white wrap. You can see a preview of each option when selecting wrap color.
After printing, the canvas is stretched over and secured to a wooden frame of 1.5″ by 1.5″ stretcher bars. The entire production process takes from 5 to 7 business days. Your artwork will arrive in sturdy packaging. The hanging wire will be attached and all hardware necessary to hang your canvas print will be included. Canvas prints are a great ready-to-hang option.
