This Boston waterfront print represents one of those lucky to be there moments. On my last morning in Boston, I wanted to head out to see the Boston Harbor Islands. The weather was gray and overcast but was predicted to clear. Still, as I made my way to the Marina for a water taxi, the skies were gray and dull. The cloud cover seemed dense and the chance of seeing any sunrise seemed dim.
I’ve honestly never been a morning person anyway, and as I sat there on the Boston waterfront beneath gray skies, I felt sleepy. I sat in the waiting room with my back to the outdoors feeling only half awake. Out of nowhere, I caught a glimpse of a warm gold light coming through the windows and I turned to see this beautiful scene over the Boston marina by Long Wharf.
You can imagine my jaw dropped as I saw that golden light over the boats on the Boston waterfront. There was such a great mix of the cool blues of morning and the promise of a beautiful day shining through. I rushed out with my camera to capture it. Years later, I’m still stunned by the beautiful gold hues of the sun just peaking through that cloud bank. The patterns in the sky and reflecting in the water were phenomenal. As I stood there in the cool salt air, I was just glad I was prepared for that gorgeous moment of sun shining through the clouds on an otherwise sleepy Sunday morning in Boston.
Isn’t it funny how such a beautiful moment can present itself out of the blue like that? Does this Boston print remind you of a special morning of your own? Perhaps even your own beautiful morning overlooking the waters of Boston’s harbor?
