Birds Over The Galway Seaside – Irish Art Print

There’s just something about any seaside city. When you’re there experiencing the smell of the ocean, the sounds, even the breeze off the ocean, there’s definitely a charm to it. And I think this print captures some of that charisma on the Galway seaside. When I look back at this print, I can hear the gulls wheeling through the air again. I can feel the cool breeze on my hands and cheeks. And all at once, even the smell of the salt air comes back.

There’s no secret that I left a little of my heart in Galway. It was one of my favorite places in Ireland. And as I loved Ireland as a whole, that’s saying a lot. But there was something about the Galway seaside. I walked along the Claddagh practically every day. I loved the View from there of The Long Walk – the waterfront seen in this print. And of course, I loved the seaside. I loved the coastal vibe that permeated that city of Ireland’s sleepy west coast. As many places as I loved in Ireland, if I could only see one again, I would stand here on the Galway seaside once more.

This seaside print with the birds in action was a lot of fun work. I don’t normally try to capture animals in action. They are so unpredictable. Yet as I stood there over the cold water looking across to the waterfront, I wanted to capture that moment, the action of the birds and what they added to the moment. I have no idea how many tries it took, but the result was worth it. There’s a real sense of being there on the Irish coast again.
