This London River Thames canvas print features a romantic kiss in the rain. In the background we can see the famous clock tower known to many as Big Ben. Although, of course, that has always been the large bell. The clock tower is actually named in honor of Queen Elizabeth II. And appropriately the river walk on this part of the Thames embankment is, I understand, known as The Queen’s Walk. And even on a rainy night I’ve never seen it quite as deserted as depicted here. But artistic license of course, I wanted the emphasis to be on the couple lost in a kiss in the rain on that historic river bank.

This beautiful rainy night in London reminds me of past trips to that beautiful city. After all if you’ve been to London, odds are you’ve spent your share of rainy nights and days there. I used to call those museum days. But the rain is part of the environment there and I spent time on every trip to London wandering in the rain which has directly or indirectly inspired some of my London canvas prints. So here we have a couple lost in the moment under a red umbrella as the rain gently falls around them.
