This Nova Scotia greeting card features the landmark Peggys Cove Lighthouse. Officially the name is Peggys Point Lighthouse but it’s name has become associated with the nearby village and cove. Built in 1914 to replace an earlier lighthouse, Peggys Cove lighthouse marks the eastern entrance to St. Margarets Bay. It has become one of the most recognizable lighthouses in the world. There’s a decent chance that even if you haven’t heard of it by name you will recognize this beautiful Canadian lighthouse.

This subject was suggested to me and it’s always a bit of a challenge to tackle a well known landmark considering it’s probably been painted and photographed a million ways from Sunday. Is my take unique? I don’t know but I think as with all art it become subjective. So I’ll ask what brought you here and attracts you to the image on this Peggys Cove lighthouse greeting card?
