Even getting to go inside and witness the simulated light of that day was a highlight of my travels.
Newgrange was already centuries old when the Egyptian pyramids were built. When Stonehenge was built, Newgrange had stood for a thousand years. As it was built before written record, we can only guess at the intentions and the culture of the builders. But it’s fascinating to try to peek into the minds of long ago.
