For newer residents of Atlanta, it’s probably hard to imagine that The Fox was nearly demolished in the 1970s. It’s hard to believe such a fabulous piece of Atlanta history was nearly wiped out for a lowly parking deck, but that was the plan before residents came together to fight for the Fox. The fight to save The Fox Theatre would become a textbook of historic preservation.

And The Fox Theatre stands today thanks to those awesome people who fought for it.
