The subject of this classic car metal print is a green Karmann Ghia. Probably not as well known as the VW Beetle, the Type 17 Convertible was another classic car put out by Volkswagen during the same time period.
My inspiration to feature a Green Karmann Ghia in this artwork was that this little sports car was my Mom’s dream car when she was younger. When I was growing up when we would spot one on the road, she would always point it out. And green was in particular the color she wanted. I am not sure what model year the Karman Ghia I used as a model for this print is but it appears to be somewhere between a 1963 and a 1969. If you’re more well versed in classic cars, I’d love to know for certain!
