This Central of Georgia Depot greeting card is based on the historic 1890 depot in my hometown of Montezuma, Georgia. It was both a passenger and freight depot and one of two in the town. The other depot was moved to the Agrirama in Tifton some years ago.

The Central of Georgia Depot in Montezuma is a beautiful brick building with Queen Anne style details. If I had to pick one building that symbolizes Montezuma, this is it. When I was growing up, it housed our local police department. Today it has been restored and houses the local museum. It’s shown in the image on this card on a sunny late summer day. The blue skies have a hint of the color of fall.
